Mr Paulo Soares de Oliveira is an executive with diversified professional experience in Finance and Investments, covering Banking (1996-1999), Private Equity & M&A (1999-2011), and Independent Director (Group CFO & CRO) together with M&A Advisor roles (2011 – present).
Mr. Paulo Soares Oliveira started his career in Banking, where he worked in Credit Risk Management and LBO’s (structured transactions), completing three LBO deals.
He then moved to Private Equity & M&A industry, where his background includes Investment management and Director roles, originating and managing a diversified investment activity in terms of investment stage (investing from start-ups, Growth until turnarounds), industries covered (Industry, hospitality; Health; Chemical; Auto; FMCG; among others) and geographies (Europe; Africa; South America), together with PE portfolio companies’ management (as Director, Executive Director or Non-Executive Director). He concluded several deals and Joint-Venture partnerships, in some cases from origination until divestment.
Since 2011, he has been Group CFO / Executive Director at different companies, having a special focus on international, Turnaround & Change management projects. For example, he has conducted a successful Turnaround in Hospitality sector, with an improvement of EBITDA by 7,8x in five years.
Mr. Paulo Soares Oliveira has also advised M&A and Debt advisory cross-border transactions in different industries.
Mr. Paulo Soares Oliveira has a Diploma in Business Management (U.M.), a Diploma in Advanced Accounting and Tax Structures (ISCTE), a Master Degree in Finance (ISCTE), and he is currently a Doctoral Candidate (DBA) at IE Business School (Madrid) where he is doing research on “value-creation management models in Private Equity”.
